East Stroudsburg is a borough in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, 32 miles (51 km) north of Easton. It was originally known as "Dansbury", but was renamed for geographic reasons when the Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western Railroad opened a station in town. It is situated in a picturesque region at the foot of the Pocono Mountains.
